Welcome to the golden age of fan culture. Thanks to the development of social media, fans of celebrities feel more connected to their idols than ever before. In recent years, celebrity fan culture has been dubbed “stan culture”. 

To many, these “stans” are overly obsessed and are blindly devoted to a one-sided relationship – often taking it too far. But, outside of this judgement, so-called “stans” wear this title as a badge of honour.
