Forced Migration

By NINA LIPPELT

Migration has a major impact on the world, including in The Netherlands. In 2022 our country received more than 120 thousand immigrants. This has consequences for the housing market, among others, but also for politics. It can be really difficult for this group of people to find their place in society. There are various reasons why someone chooses to move to a completely different country (immigrants) But there is also a large group of people who do not make this decision themselves, and are therefore forced to leave their own country. (refugees) This may be due to war, violence or religion. This can lead to the result of many disagreements and a feeling of not belonging anywhere.
